  11. I need some help with a 28,800ifx - V.34 Data Fax Modem by Newcom.
  12. The modembox state, that NewCom Inc. (based: Westlake Village, California) is 
  13. a subsidiary of Aura Systems Inc.

  16. Does some one know a good Init-string for this modem?
  17. I'll get about every 300,000 bytes a CRC-error/Packet-size error when using 
  18. ZModem to download, but it keep downloaden!
  19. The Chipset is Rockwell-based.
  20. Above was done on a Tandon 286 and a generic 486DX2-80 computer.

  23. When I put this v34 modem in a Escom Minitower P120, running Windows 95,
  24. strange things happens!
  25. When I start Telix, in either Dos 7.0, Windows 95 or Dos 6.2 (With a original 
  26. MS-DOS 6.2 floppy), the PC freaks out and the screen turns black.

  28. Under Win 95, the modem dial & connect, but when downloading (tried several 
  29. protocols & programs), the computer freeze when it got about 10% of the file.
  30. When I try to disconect, after restarting the computer, the modem won't 
  31. disconnect.

  33. I think the line is disconnect, but still modem is still "screaming" when pick 
  34. up the phone. The only way to silence it, is to restart Win 95.

  36. From the above I've concluded that not the modem is at fault, but the computer!
  37. It problably has something to do with them knew features like Plug & Play.
  38. By the way, the Uarts (not included) the modem are set on COM1 & COM3!!
  39. And the modem was installed with COM2 (standard IRQ 3).

  41. Could some-one please, please, please, help me!!!!!
